With the rapid development of manufacturing technology, industries such as automobiles, aerospace, and molds have put forward higher requirements for cutting tools. (1) Pay attention to the dynamic balance of the tool

 

In recent years, the HSK tool system has gradually replaced the traditional 7:24 tool system, which has higher connection rigidity and accuracy. The speed of the HSK tool system is generally greater than 1500r/min, which can be used for high-speed cutting. With the continuous development of machine tool and tool interface technology, HSK tool system will be an important direction for future development. The dynamic balance of the tool is an important indicator of high-speed milling tools. For this reason, many companies have developed special dynamic balancing instruments in accordance with the requirements for tool dynamic balance. Italy’s CEMB company previously demonstrated a vertical tool dynamic balance instrument, which can realize fully automatic tool dynamic balance measurement. (2) Higher requirements are put forward for indexable tools

 

With the rapid development of manufacturing technology, industries such as automobiles, aerospace, and molds have put forward higher requirements for indexable tools, which has promoted the sustainable development of indexable tools. At present, the development direction of indexable tools is toward higher speed, smaller depth of cutting tool, and large feed. The indexable tools developed by many companies have a novel blade shape, a smaller blade size, a smaller cutting entering angle and a new clamping structure, so that the feed per tooth can reach 3.5mm. Achieving high metal removal rate by means of snack depth and large feed is an important development direction for indexable high-speed milling tools. Various combined and dedicated indexable tools are also an important project that is urgently needed for development in the automotive and other industries. Combined tool and special tool have great plasticity due to its development. The characteristic of combined tool is that it can complete multi-step processing in one clamping. Therefore, special tools such as combination tools have shown extraordinary effects in the management of cutting tools and reducing tool costs.

 

(3) Significant progress has been made in tool coating technology

 

Tool coating technology is a key technology to promote the progress of cutting processing. At present, modified coating materials mainly include TiN, TiCN, etc. Using computer-controlled PVD and CVD coating technology, the above-mentioned coating materials are used in the surface modification coating treatment of end mills, reamers, drills, composite tools and indexable inserts to meet the needs of high-speed and long-life cutting and Requirements for processing high-strength and high-hardness materials. The use of PVD and CVD coating on the surface of the tool can greatly improve the cutting performance of the CNC tool and expand the processing range of the tool.

 

Compared with the rapid development of coating technology, the development of tool materials is relatively slow. The cutting tool exhibits have shown the momentum of wide application of ultrafine-grained carbide materials with superior performance in the production of indexable inserts and small-size drills, end mills, taps and other CNC tools as well as conventional tools. CNC tool materials and coating technology are a new field of scientific research, and the launch of each new product will drive the processing technology to a new level.
